On 15th of March 2011 the self-titled debut by De-Menz, a project of the Hildesheim DJ and producer Benjamin Radan (Niño Cortez) and “Massiv In Mensch” mastermind Daniel Logemann, will be published at Ionium Records.

Furiousness “Forcecoming Clubware” whips ahead. And already here you know the mindlessness, with which “De-Menz” are working. Without blinder “De-Menz” merge hard-trance, techno, electro and industrial into an impulsive mixture full of energy. Wicked german lyrics, which remind on “Der Verfall” or “LDC” are coming right with it. “De-Menz” give us technoid radio plays – a journey into absurd worlds (“Die Kraft”, “Die Mönche”). Also “Pulp Fiction”-fans will get their money’s worth with “Dem Pfad der Gerechten”!

“De-Menz” are Benjamin Radan alias Niño Cortez (Arrangement, Production) , DJ and Producer from Hildesheim (Germany) and the “Massiv in Mensch”-head Daniel Logemann alias [ le-rav ] (Vocals). KID MONOTON payed his love to the old analog times tribute with COLD-BIT. Due to permanent deep hits, the artist decided better to bury COLD-BIT and gather the crop of multiple decades. Now finally is the time, the album “Kapitän Ahoi!” isn’t just the debut act, but also his farewell to his analog baby, which he loves with all his heart, but also abandon, when the bad luck is chasing him all the time.

He presents a collection of all singers, which were in touch with him over all the years or which wanted to contribute something to the farewell. He received help from artists like Daniel of FILE NOT FOUND, Asmodi of EGOAMP or TENSE, which all proved with their projects, that their love to the 80s is celebrated with devotion, which noone can decline.

The 12 songs reflect the deep deviotion for this era of musical history. “Kapitän Ahoi!” supplies a mixture for everyone, no matter if you prefer to dance (Running Man, Undercover), want to cry out your frustration (Don’t Need That) or want to listen to stories written by life (Tongue Tied, Dancing Leaves), the music appeals to you. In a symbolic way the album is completed with “Nostalgic Wave”, a kind of farewell and simultaneous a symbol of honor for this kind of music.

Now it’s time to say goodbye. KID MONOTON surely may stay in the world of music, on one way or another, but let us accompany COLD-BIT on it’s last way dancing, with the due respect and a positive attitude. Maybe the end is just the beginning of something new.

In March 2011 a new era starts for the Synthpop-band dAVOS from Austria. As their former releases were availabe on CD solely, now the band’s entire back-catalogue, the EPs “What I Prefer” and “I Start Mourning”, and also the album “Just Like Mine” as a special edition will be re-released digitally on Ionium Records. Even the new – plainly titled “Promo 2004 – 2010″ – best-of compilation will be available soon on all well-known downloadstores. A new album is announced for 2011 too.

What I Prefer (2004, digital 2011)

The three likeable guys from Vienna, whose concerts are a real must-have seen to the local scene since years, finally published their debut. “Collite” will carry back the listener to a time, when analog synthesizers still were desktop-sized. All fans of synth-pop who dig songs of New Order or Mesh should give this CD a listen by all means.

I Start Mourning (2005, digital 2011)

“I Start Mourning” is a mystically starting EP, which distinguishes through strong beats and harmonic guitar riffs in the beginning and continues with a very melodic sound. The first german song makes a diverting break just before the EP ends with multifaceted remixes. Five of nine songs which “I Start Mourning” enfolds altogether are remixes by different artists: L’ame Immortelle central figure Thomas Rainer, Hannes Medwenitsch from Nature Destroyed and also Torben Wendt from Diorama with a very emotional version of the title song “What I Prefer”. Even Per-Anders Kurenbach couldn’t resist to remix the song, “Stakkato Frames” in his very personal style.

Just Like Mine (2007, digital Special Edition 2011)

After three EPs which were highly-praised by audience and press just the same and also a celebrated 7″-Vinyl the viennese Wave-Pop-band dAVOS presents its debut album. Ten catchy songs oscillate on the fine line between hope and desperation. Eric Nelsons’ one of as kind voice accentuates the profound work which was produced by Per-Anders Kurenbach. Three dAVOS songs from a split-EP CD complete the digital re-release.

Promo 2004 – 2010 (2011)

This dAVOS album is a pure DJ- and Club-promotion-album. Both band and management resolved upon distributing a limited number of units. Ten songs from the years 2004 – 2010 show the bands danceable aspect. With Matt C. the band got a new, capable person on board who substitutes Gerd Hall in 2011 as well and their work on a new album goes forward rapidly.

After the successful free download EP “The Cabinet” (take a look here) in December, on 22th of February 2011 the debut album “Welcome To The Cabinet” by EGOamp will be published at Ionium Records.

EGOamp was founded 1920 in the beautiful town Holstenwall by Asmodi Caligari, the director of the local Insane asylum, and enchants the hearts of all sleepwalkers and night owls with their electronic dancemusic. After several live concerts on carnivals of the republic and a free download EP in December 2010 on Ionium Records now the first movie clapper of their Neverending Story claps. “And action”!

“Welcome to the Cabinet” is joining the love to german silent movies of the Twenties with musical influences of 80s Synthpop, EBM, House and Trance. EGOamp doesn’t consider themselves as a retroband, but know how to sound modern by the fat production of Chris Lietz (f.e. producer of “Die Krupps”). Loosely linked, the short soundscapes build a bridge to different threads of the cd. The central theme is the silent movie classic “Das Kabinett des Dr. Caligari” by Robert Wiene, 1920.

Fittingly the New Wave underground hit “The Cabinet” by the british band “Das Kabinette” has been adapted. Even the original authors of the track cherish the interpretation, so it’s an authorised cover version so to say. Also other subjects like loneliness, revenge and movies in general have been processed lyrically, often presented with a wink of an eye. The ironic component is manifested in the stylish approach of the band.

Asmodi Caligari seems to be slipped directly of an old silent movie. It is rumored, that they even come out of the long lost motion picture (“Das Erbe des Dr. Lang”, 1919) by director and theatre manager Joe Castle alias Josef Schloss, who speaks in the track “The Director” in person. “The Veil” describes the claustrophobic atmosphere of a room with the resulting isolation and escapism in severe drugs, which is based on dark harmonies, propulsive beats and lyrically stringency. “The Carnival”, “Holstenwall” and “The Cabinet” establish a relationship to the story of the movie “Das Kabinett des Dr. Caligari”. Movie connoisseurs will find many cineastic cross reverences. The tracks shows more likely a connection to the soundtrack of “Metropolis” by Giorgio Moroder, than to a classic filmscore.

You can explore a lot of things in this debut, which does not shrink away from combining different styles of music and so creates an unique blend, which might be interesting for cineastic maniacs as well as lovers of electronic pop culture. “Welcome To The Cabinet” will be released on 22th of February 2011 at Ionium Records.

Technology of Silence is a story about a post-nuclear city, a story about the people living in this city, a story about an ecological catastrophe, human madness, human fears and the eternal search for a goal in the loneliness.

Technology of Silence is also a Russian Ambient/Industrial/Experimental-project, existing since 2004. Founder of this project is Denis Romanov, who unites the incompatible opposites silence and music and makes it a whole, while taking a focus on the world that surrounds us and the events that take place in it, watching it from different points of view.

It is a mixture of Ambient, Industrial, IDM and Minimal, although the band isn’t concentrating on a particular style. Environmental problems and man-made disasters are the basic themes, which draw a red line through the back-catalogue of Technology of Silence. The centre of attention in the stories of the band is a post-nuclear city, described as ruins of a high-tech-civilization, corrupted by mankind, and a place full of human recollections, emotions and feelings.

The fourth album by now is called “The Squad” and was released by the netlabel Enough Records. It will also be released by Ionium Records on 15.02.2011 as free download under a Creative Commons License.

Zwaremachine arrived in an evil analog-powered spaceship, haunted by the ghost of a robot and responsible for reprehensible crimes throughout the galaxy. Inspired by industrial music such as Throbbing Gristle, Front 242 and mid-period Ministry, Zwaremachine comes armed with technology from the future.

On time with Christmas on 14th of December we have a very special delicacy for all EGOamp fans: “The Cabinet EP”. On this release you will find the awesome coverversion of the famous New Wave underground hit “The Cabinet” by the british band “Das Kabinette”, which gained attention on various underground samplers and in the clubs.

Remixers from Russia, France, Argentina and Spain delivered their interpretations of the hit, making it to their song. The free download will be refined with the exclusive remix of “Egomanic Maniacs” and the much sought after REIZstrom-remix of “The Camera”, both of them tracks off of the upcoming album “Welcome to the Cabinet”, to be released in Spring 2011.

CyBozz is a Berlin-based Electro/Industrial band, founded by Andreas Steckmann (eg. Manipulation). The name already suggests harsh sounding material. The Cybozz sound is a mixture of rhythmical sequences and noise elements, atmospheric sounds and strange samples, occasionally supported by distorted vocals.

The musical range covers “to-the-floor” electro-songs and harsh, rhythmical industrial music. Cybozz members are musicians and dancers mainly from the local scene in Berlin: Andreas Steckmann (Programming, Performance), Monika (Perfomance), Jörg Key Hilsbeck (Machines) and Frank Glaßl (Drums).

Cybozz songs have already been released on 3 electronic-music compilations, the 1. Fear Section Sampler (2003) featured their version of Human League’s “Being Boiled”, the song “Drug” appeared on a limited Solitary Experiments birthday sampler and “Geburt einer Nation” has recently been released on the “Chrom de la Chrom II” compilation.

S-TALKER is a project of musicians whose names kept secret because of their schizophrenic mind. Their sound is a mixture of progressive Electro, EBM and Techno. But who knows, their sound-attacks could easily drift into Swing or Blues. You can’t even rule out fragments of Reggea, Rock or classical music, because S-TALKER are the persistant rest of data which continues to influence the whole system after a defragmentation.

The lyrics assimilate occasional attacks of madness, being interpreted 1:1. The “First Call EP” is the result of a first schizophrenic phase, which will be continued for sure. But there’s one other thing that S-TALKER is too: A clear message, that you don’t have to take everything too seriously…

One year after it’s digital release on Itunes and other download-stores, the critically acclaimed “The Fourth Zone” by Halo Effect will be available as free download by Ionium Records on 1st of November 2010.

“The Fourth Zone” is a powerful, strong and dark record with it’s roots to be found in the synthpop/ebm/industrial-genre, offering the listener stunning up-tempo songs. The combination of sounds and lyrics create a deep and strange atmosphere – thematically influenced by the tragic days of the reactor-explosion in Chernobyl in 1986 and the difficulties we go through nowadays. But “The Fourth Zone” is not only the physical zone where the reactor is located – analyzing the other side of the tragedy, we can see a rebirth of life, a place no longer contaminated by human life, a pure world, a place where nature is recovering space and life, a new beginning of existence.

“The Fourth Zone” could also be the darkest place inside us, where we put in anguish, suffering, disappointment, fragility and all broken dreams and hopes that we don’t want to show or share. Like a hidden place of the soul, where we seek refuge in the saddest moments of our life, hoping to find the power to go ahead. But it could also be a probable picture of the world in the near future if we continue to destroy this planet. “The Fourth Zone” offers different points of reflection, melting into a concept album that speaks about the past, but also takes a look at the present and the future.

5 maxi singles off of the album have been released as free download by Ionium Records, remixed by some great bands such as “The Eternal Afflict”, “Spektralized”, “FabrikC”, “Human Decay”, “A Spell Inside”, “People Theatre”, “Blank”, “Octolab” and more.
