One year after it’s digital release on Itunes and other download-stores, the critically acclaimed “The Fourth Zone” by Halo Effect will be available as free download by Ionium Records on 1st of November 2010.

“The Fourth Zone” is a powerful, strong and dark record with it’s roots to be found in the synthpop/ebm/industrial-genre, offering the listener stunning up-tempo songs. The combination of sounds and lyrics create a deep and strange atmosphere – thematically influenced by the tragic days of the reactor-explosion in Chernobyl in 1986 and the difficulties we go through nowadays. But “The Fourth Zone” is not only the physical zone where the reactor is located – analyzing the other side of the tragedy, we can see a rebirth of life, a place no longer contaminated by human life, a pure world, a place where nature is recovering space and life, a new beginning of existence.

“The Fourth Zone” could also be the darkest place inside us, where we put in anguish, suffering, disappointment, fragility and all broken dreams and hopes that we don’t want to show or share. Like a hidden place of the soul, where we seek refuge in the saddest moments of our life, hoping to find the power to go ahead. But it could also be a probable picture of the world in the near future if we continue to destroy this planet. “The Fourth Zone” offers different points of reflection, melting into a concept album that speaks about the past, but also takes a look at the present and the future.

5 maxi singles off of the album have been released as free download by Ionium Records, remixed by some great bands such as “The Eternal Afflict”, “Spektralized”, “FabrikC”, “Human Decay”, “A Spell Inside”, “People Theatre”, “Blank”, “Octolab” and more. Halo Effect has also produced two video clips from this album, “Hammer The Gear” and “Life Goes On”, available on YouTube.

The album “The Fourth Zone” increased attention on Halo Effect. Their eagerly awaited new album is scheduled for early 2011 and will be produced by E/K Produkt.

A long-lasting cooperation becomes a commercial partnership: Ionium Records merges with Xenobiotic Records and distributes all releases on the authority of afmusic with immediate effect. Henceforth, Ionium Records’ founder Thomas Teehaa and Falk Merten, the founder of afmusic, will be responsible for A&R, promotion and the artist’s support service. Disributions as well as arrangements of Ionium Records will be managed by afmusic. Consequently, Germany’s most innovative subcultural record labels will be unified under one umbrella of Danse Macabre.

Together, afmusic and Ionium Records use the advantages of the World Wide Web, which bands as well as fans can benefit from: bands have the chance to promote and distribute their music professionally and contemporary – fans have the free choice between a wide range of more than 50 releases and are able to listen to all offered songs in complete length for free.

afmusic is Germany’s most innovative subcultural record label and leading address for newcomer’s net-releases regarding the music genres Wave, Gothic and Independent. Two years after their debut album “New Romantic Industry” was released, Halo Effect are very happy to announce that they’re coming back with a new studio album. The second album is called “The Fourth Zone” and will be released on 11/01/2009 as digital download at all common download stores like iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rapshody, eMusic, etc. A CD-copy of the album will only be available as limited edition at their live gigs, which will start in October 2009.

The new album is very powerful, strong and dark, orientated on Synthpop / EBM / Industrial with more up-tempo songs on it: The music and the lyrics create a perfect mix, a deep and strange atmosphere influenced by the tragic days regarding of the Nuclear Reactor explosion in Chernobyl in 1986, until these difficult days today in which the people live over there.

But The Fourth Zone is not only the physical zone where the reactor is located: by analyzing the other side of the tragedy one can see a rebirth of life, a place which is no longer contaminated by human life: a pure world – a place where nature is recovering space and life – a new beginning.

Halo Effect decided to release three maxi singles remixed by international bands and DJs from various countries on Ionium Records as free downloads. The first maxi single, “Hammer the gear”, will be released on 09/01/09, followed by “Their G.O.D./Days of violence” on 10/01/09 and finally “It was nothing/Life goes on” on 11/16/09. Am 01.11.2008, genau ein Jahr nach der Erstveröffentlichung, wird das Debütalbum ‘New Romantic Industry’ der italienischen Electro-Band Halo Effect als kostenfreier Download verfügbar sein.

Seit 2003 sind Halo Effect in der italienischen Alternativszene unterwegs und haben dank ihrer Konzerte und Demoaufnahmen die Aufmerksamkeit einer ständig wachsenden Zahl von Fans elektronicher Musik auf sich gezogen. Ihr Sound, beeinflußt vom nordeuropäischen Dark-, EBM- und Industrial, wird oft als “Depeche Mode ähnlich” beschrieben.
